Mary Alice SUTTON KARR liked to tell stories about going to church, when the minister could be there to hold services, and hearing the songs drifting across the hills when she couldn't be there. She also liked to tell stories about "winning" Egbert Karr from a friend, Mae Polly, and of the bad snow storm that came on her wedding day in January of 1919. She was 97 years young when she passed away on the 21st of January 1999 and could still recite the poem that she memorized for her eighth grade graduation at the local school.
